My Known Paternal Ancestors

From the Dezotell genealogy prepared by Jim Dezotell

Generation 1:

Pascall Dezotell was born April 1st, 1799 in France (or possibly in 1801 in Quebec, Canada; kd). He married Mary Elizabeth Cook in 1825; the service was performed by Squire Brook in Rutland, New York. They had six children, four boys and two girls. He died January 20th, 1897, 2 1/2 months before his 98th birthday, in Monroe County, Wisconsin. He survived the deaths of at least 3 of his children, two of whom died from wounds or diseases incurred fighting the Civil War.

Generation 2:

Stephen Dezotell was born November 20th, 1828 in Lewis, New York, and firstborn. The family moved to Monroe County, Wisconsin sometime before 1859. He married Caroline Getman, and they also had six children, four boys and two girls (and in that order.) He died November 22nd, 1872, at the age of 44. He was buried in Greenfield Cemetery of Tunnel City, Wisconsin.

Generation 3:

James Arthur Dezotell was first born like his father, November 16th, 1859, in Greenfield, Wisconsin. He married Lucy Ann Manly at the age of 18 on August 18th, 1878 in Greenfield, and they had two boys and a girl. He died September 1937, about two months shy of his 78th birthday, in Davidson, Saskatchewan.

Generation 4:

Arthur James Dezotell was second born on September 21st, 1881 in Bellingham, Minnesota. He and his wife, Inga Anna Marie Anderson, returned to the family tradition of having six children, four boys and two girls. He died in Grants Pass, Oregon at the age of 83, on December 4th, 1964.

Generation 5:

Claude Dezotell was the oldest boy but the second child, born April 15th, 1906 in Appleton, Minnesota. He married Elizabeth Hallaway on March 27th, 1930 in Benson, Minnesota. They had three boys; the youngest son David Richard died at the age of 18, in Arlington, Washington (there is still a plaque in the display case of Arlington High School dedicated to David.) Claude died October 29th, 1989 in Ellensburg, Washington.

Generation 6:

Gerald Dezotell was born in Appleton, Minnesota on May 15th, 1933, middle son of three boys. He married Sarah Jean, and they had four sons.

Generation 7:

I was born in Everett, Washington, on January 15th, 1962, youngest son. My great-grandfather died less than two years after I was born, one state away. I married Mary Louise on July 17th, 1993. We have no children.
